Living in a Connected World

Technology is changing the way we live. Let's make sense of it.

Technology is no longer something that belongs only to computer experts.

It's in our phones, our cars, our homes, our banks, our workplaces and even the way we talk to each other.

Every week, Living in a Connected World looks at some of the technology stories that are making news and asks a simple question:

What does this actually mean for me?

There are three short articles each week, each with a different focus.

Monday — Everyday Connections

Technology that's changing something in our everyday lives.

Phones, apps, artificial intelligence, online services, digital payments, the internet and all the other technology we use without necessarily thinking about it.

The question we ask:

How is this affecting my everyday life?

Wednesday — Connected & Safe

The connected world has plenty of advantages, but there are risks too.

We'll look at scams, privacy, security, data breaches, online fraud and the tricks criminals are using to take advantage of new technology.

Most importantly, we'll look at what you can do about it.

The question we ask:

Could this affect me, and how can I protect myself?

Friday — What's Coming?

Some technology is already here. Some is just around the corner.

This is where we'll look at artificial intelligence, robots, new forms of transport, batteries, space technology, emerging gadgets and some of the stranger developments happening around the world.

Some will be useful. Some might surprise you. And some may make you wonder where we're heading.

The question we ask:

What could this mean for our future?
